Automation Engineer

Ease has an immediate opening for a Software Automation Engineer. This position is responsible for automation of unit, functional, and integration/system test cases of the Ease - Beacon product. Beacon is a powerful audit and inspection management platform which helps manufacturers and service providers slash administrative overhead and provides immediate insight to help "close the loop" and achieve operational excellence. Beacon is built for the web and mobile and is cloud-native using HTML5, Angular 4, Bootstrap, Apache, and MySQL. This position will be an integral part of the overall quality automation initiative and help drive higher quality standards throughout this group.

The Software Automation Engineer will be instrumental in defining QA automation processes, driving automated test methods, and defining overall automation architecture and best practices.

The ideal candidate will have excellent automation framework skills, lean/agile software development experience, deep understanding of formal QA methodology/processes and experience with scalable web/mobile and cloud platforms.

Goals:

  • Create a high performance software test automation suite across the product
  • With the leadership team, help the organization move toward a lean/agile and metrics/data driven approach to quality assurance
  • Increase initial code quality and release quality of products

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the development team managers to help define automation deliverables
  • Provide technical test automation direction for both on-shore and off-shore resources.
  • Work with the Product Quality Owner (PQO) to oversee/ensure the quality of test plans, test cases, test matrix, and bug reporting
  • Work with the PQO to provide detailed status of including overall product quality, test progress, and automation achievements.
  • Through example and informal training, lead and drive project teams toward 100% automated functional testing
  • Work with the PQO and development leads to validate and enhance testing done within the scope of Test Driven Development.
  • Create, document, and implement detailed test cases and test suites
  • Work with the PQO to deliver presentations to internal customers and external clients/prospects about QA processes

Qualifications:

  • A proven QA professional with software industry experience of 5+ years.
  • High passion towards quality and making a difference within an organization
  • Exceptional abilities designing/implementing test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Expertise in authoring QA methodologies and strategies with a focus in white box, stress and Load testing, test case planning, and documentation
  • Strong understanding of test automation and test automation frameworks (CodedUI, Selenium, etc) including test driven development
  • Experience and demonstrable success with the full software development lifecycle
  • Strong experience with Agile Development processes and continuous improvement (Plan-Do-Check-Act), sprint over sprint
  • Experience developing and testing entire systems, with capability to understand details of the technology.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline
  • A plus to have any of the following:  Lean/agile development skills and certifications – certified scrum master, scrum coach, product owner, etc
